Private Homes \ House Extension For A Holiday Cottage, Wooler, Northumberland
This small domestic project ten miles on the English side of the Border is for an Edinburgh client who has owned a long house originally consisting of the smithy and an adjacent cottage. Our project renovates the holiday house cottage by removing unsightly dormer windows and placing all bedroom accommodation within the original building.
At the same time a new living/dining/kitchen space parallel to the original building has been constructed. This new construction of steel and cedar looks southwest and can open up and close down in the summer and winter and for security purposes and will be in contrast with the original building as a light open structure alongside the Northumbrian cottage.
The project was completed in June 2005.
