Our project for an expanded and reorganised centre for North Edinburgh Arts along with a new nursery school, library and housing for the City of Edinburgh has been given planning permission.  Drawings are at an advanced stage to allow Robertson Construction to start work on site in early 2022. The project will be completed by late 2023. The image shows the first floor play area for the nursery school, one of the four elements of the building.

We have been asked by a private client to develop Papple Steading in the south east of Haddington. Originally owned by the Balfour family, it is a largely disused example of the model farms of the agricultural improvement movement.  The project will combine an agricultural heritage museum, a business conference centre and some residential accommodation.

We are delighted to have been selected by Aberdeen Performing Arts (who manage three performing arts venues in Aberdeen for Aberdeen City Council), to prepare a feasibility study on the reorganisation, extension and renovation of this unusual and famous venue. The study is due to be complete by March 2022 when we hope to publish our drawings

Richard and colleague Karel spent an enjoyable afternoon on the ramparts of Edinburgh Castle capturing views during daylight and night-time of Festival Square.  The photographs have been used to create montages of the new Filmhouse as seen from this viewpoint, and a sample lighting panel as a fragment of the proposed illuminated façade is about to be rigged up in the Square itself, to allow planners to gauge the level of light and its variability.
